Nine years, four cities, one dog, and a wedding under October trees — kept in one place, in order, forever.
This is a real, navigable demonstration · every chapter below works
Chapter one · September 2017
it began withAva ordered a flat white. The barista called out “Theodore.” Both of them reached for the cup, and Theodore — to his eternal credit — let her keep it and bought another, on the condition that she defend her opinion that autumn is overrated. She lost the argument. He lost the next nine, on purpose.

Chapter two · 2017 – 2019
the early yearsEighteen months of Friday trains and Sunday goodbyes. The chapter nobody photographs well and everybody remembers best: platform waves, borrowed jumpers, phone calls that ended because a battery did, never because the conversation had.
Chapter three · March 2020
a major milestoneOne set of keys, one van, forty boxes — and eight weeks later, a terrier named Biscuit who runs this household to this day. The chapter where “your place” and “my place” quietly became “home.”
Chapter four · June 2025
the questionHe took her back to the café under the pretense of a walk. The barista — briefed for weeks — wrote a name on a cup that wasn’t hers: “Ava, look up.” He was already on one knee. She said yes before he finished the sentence, which he maintains should count as an interruption.
Chapter five · 2025 – 2026
engagedVenue visits, cake tastings that got out of hand, one spreadsheet with fourteen tabs, and an engagement party where both grandmothers danced. Planning, it turns out, is its own chapter — and worth keeping.
Chapter six · 17 October 2026
the wedding dayNinety-two guests, one borrowed something blue, vows that made the officiant reach for her own tissue — and a golden hour that behaved exactly as commissioned. The photographer delivered 2,187 photographs. Every one of them is here, sorted into the day’s own little chapters: getting ready, the ceremony, the golden hour, the dance floor, after dark.
“Ava, your grandfather would have straightened his tie three times and said nothing, and it would have meant everything. So: nothing. From both of us.”
“Theo. THEO. You married her. Mission complete. This is what peaking looks like, enjoy it.”
