the wedding story

A visual diary for the best parts of your life.

We turn the photographs, films and memories of your relationship into one visual story: how you met, the wedding, the trips, the first home, anniversaries and the family chapters that follow. You choose where it begins, what stays private and who gets to see the rest.

after the gallery arrives

A gallery records the photographs.
This records what they mean.

A photographer’s gallery is a large set of finished images. It rarely tells you who is in the room, why a speech mattered, what happened between the formal photographs or how the two of you reached that day. We select the photographs worth returning to and arrange them with the names, dates, films and memories that give them context.

one place you can open, follow and keep adding to.

what a wedding story is

Your life together,
put into a clear order.

It is a website made for one couple: part story, part timeline and part family archive. We build the first version from your photographs, films and answers. After that, you can keep adding new chapters yourself.

You choose the starting point. It can open with the day you met, begin at the wedding or be given years later for an anniversary. Chapters can include the proposal, trips, the wedding day, holidays, a first home, births, baptisms, Christmases and birthdays.

You also decide how it is presented. Some chapters can be public, some can require a password and some can remain between the two of you. The story can keep growing for as long as you want it to.

Couples order it for themselves; parents and friends also give it as a wedding, anniversary or golden-wedding gift.

The first build usually covers three parts of the timeline. The dates and events inside them are yours.

CHAPTER ONE

Before

How it began — long before the dress and the deposits.

  • The night you met, in your own words
  • The proposal, and how it really went
  • The months of planning, the small panics
  • The morning of — nerves, robes, coffee gone cold
summer
CHAPTER TWO

The day

The ceremony, the people and everything around it.

  • The first look, the walk, the kiss
  • The words you want kept from the ceremony
  • The toasts, the tears, the dancing
  • Notes from the people who were there
autumn & on
CHAPTER THREE

Ever after

Everything that came next — and keeps coming.

  • The honeymoon, the first home
  • The day your children arrive
  • Birthdays and anniversaries, year by year
  • Chapters you haven't lived yet
the part that makes it worth keeping

The wedding can be the beginning
of a much longer record.

After the first version is delivered, you can add the honeymoon, a move, a child, a baptism, a holiday or an anniversary. The wedding remains in the same timeline as the life that grew from it.

Photographs, films and context,
in the same place.

Audio from the ceremony

Keep a recording from the ceremony alongside the photographs from that moment.

Films from the day

The walk, the speech, the first dance — moving, with sound.

Notes from everyone

A guestbook the whole room can sign — long after the room empties.

A timeline that runs on

From we met to we're here — and every milestone after.

Galleries that breathe

Slow, full-bleed, unhurried — photos given the room they deserve.

Pages only for you

Some chapters for everyone; some for the two of you, locked away.

in their words

What couples and families
say after it is built.

“Our photographer delivered 2,400 photographs. The story gave us a way to follow the day without opening folders and trying to remember where everything was.”Amara & Josh
“We made ours for our first anniversary. My parents can see the wedding and honeymoon chapters; the pages about our daughter stay private.”Hana & Theo
“It was a wedding present for my daughter. They chose the photographs and privacy settings, and I supplied the family pictures from before they met.”Marianne
Hana and Theo on their wedding day

We had the photographer’s gallery, phone videos and a separate folder from our guests. This was the first time they felt like one record of the day. We have added our first flat and the dog since the wedding.

Marianne, who gifted a story to her daughter and her husband

I gave it to my daughter and her husband as a wedding present. They decided what the family could see and what would stay private. Her grandparents use it more than anyone, which is exactly what I hoped for.

We married four years before we made the site. Going back through the photographs with someone asking who was there and what happened between them gave us a record we should have made at the time.

ownership and privacy

Your family controls
where the story lives.

You own the photographs and words. You also decide whether the whole story is public, password-protected or divided into public and private chapters.

The wedding opens the story. Your family decides how long it continues.

You can export a complete copy and keep it independently of our hosting.

  • You own every word and photo.

It's your story. The content is yours, fully, from the first day.

  • Lock it, your way.

Public, or private behind a password — even different keys for different people, through their own gentle log-in.

  • Take it with you, anytime.

Export the whole thing as files you can keep, host yourself, or open offline.

  • If we ever close the doors, you keep a full copy.

No story should disappear because a company did. Yours never will.

before you ask

The questions couples
actually ask us.

How much does it cost?
The Posy is $1,200, The Garden is $2,400 and The Orchard is $3,900. Each is a one-time build. Every edition includes the first year of hosting; continued hosting is optional from $99/year. See what each edition includes →
Can we add photos and updates ourselves later?
Yes. You can add photographs, notes and new family events yourself. If you want a completely new design or a larger chapter built for you, we quote that separately before doing any work.
Our wedding already happened. Is it too late?
No. We can build from an older gallery, phone photographs and the details you still remember. The form asks when the wedding happened so we can plan the right questionnaire.
Who can see it? Can we keep it private?
You decide. The whole story can be public or password-protected, and some editions allow separate access for different people. Individual family chapters can remain private.
Do we actually own it? What if you stopped operating?
You own your photographs and written material. You can export the site, and the Lifetime edition includes a downloadable copy as standard.
How long does it take to build?
Usually around two weeks from the beginning of your booked build slot, provided the photographs and questionnaire are ready by that date. We send a private preview and include one round of changes before launch.
Can it be a gift?
Yes. We can work with the person giving it and bring the couple into the process when their photographs, answers and privacy choices are needed.
Do we need our own domain, or to be at all technical?
No. We can host it on your own domain or on a private address we provide. The handover includes a short guide for adding later chapters.
contact us

Ask us anything
before you begin.

If you are not ready to apply, send a note instead. It lands in the same place as the story applications, so we can keep every conversation together.

Useful things to ask about: gifting, privacy, old wedding photos, timelines, pricing, or whether your story is the kind we can help keep.

You can also write directly to hello@thelonglove.co.

We read every message ourselves and reply within a few days.

a note from us

A photographer's gallery gives you the material. We make the next part: the order, the context and the place where the day can be read as a complete story.

The website then stays with your family. You can add a birth, baptism, first Christmas, birthday or another event nobody else would think to document. The wedding remains the beginning instead of becoming a separate folder from the rest of your life.

If you want to ask whether your photographs would work, use the question form. You do not need to choose an edition first.
